Rep. Diana Harshbarger, a U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee’s 1st district since 2021, shared several updates on social media regarding her recent engagements and legislative efforts.
On May 6, Harshbarger expressed enthusiasm for meeting a group visiting the Nation’s Capitol. She mentioned that “My favorite group of the day just stopped by after their tour of our Nation’s Capitol! As usual, Hank was the star of the show.”
Later that day, Harshbarger discussed her meeting with members of the Tennessee Bankers Association. She highlighted the conversation about community banks and her legislative initiative by stating, “How many bankers can you fit into one congressional office? It was great meeting with the Tennessee Bankers Association to discuss the importance of community banks and my Universal Savings Account Act, which I introduced alongside Senator Cruz last week!”
On May 7, Harshbarger addressed healthcare policy in a tweet concerning Medicaid. She emphasized Republican efforts to maintain Medicaid benefits while criticizing opposing party narratives: “Republicans are dedicated to SAVING Medicaid from the unsustainable path that Democrats have placed it on. No one who is MEANT to be on the program will lose their benefits. Democrats are lying to you.”
Diana Harshbarger was born in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1960 and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
