Rep. Diana Harshbarger, a U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee’s 1st district since 2021, has recently expressed her views on various issues through social media posts. Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 1960 and a graduate of East Tennessee State University, Harshbarger has been vocal about her opinions on national matters.

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Harshbarger commented on the resignation of Christopher Wray from his position as FBI Director. She stated that “Christopher Wray deserved to be fired but we will settle for his resignation.” She criticized Wray for allegedly breaching the trust and rights of American citizens by recruiting informants in Catholic churches and colluding with big tech companies to censor speech.

The following day, December 12, 2024, she celebrated what she described as “A truly historic comeback !” without providing further context or details about the event she was referring to.

Later that same day, Rep. Harshbarger voiced her concerns over government spending related to diversity initiatives. She highlighted expenditures including “$489,883,797 on grants for race-based hiring,” “$343,337,286 on general DEI programming,” and “$169,301,221 on DEI-based mental health training.” Describing these expenses as an “absolute waste of taxpayer dollars,” she noted that “sanity returns in 39 days.”
