Rep. Diana Harshbarger, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 1st district, recently took to social media to express her views on a range of issues. Harshbarger, who succeeded Phil Roe in 2021 and is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee, shared her thoughts on President Biden’s health and political strategies concerning previous administrations.
On May 19, 2025, Rep. Harshbarger addressed the news of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis with a call for unity above politics. She stated: “There are moments when we must rise above politics. The news of President Biden’s cancer diagnosis is certainly one of those moments.” She further invited people to join her in prayer for the president and his family during this difficult time.
Later that day, at 16:00 UTC, she commented on political dynamics concerning former President Trump’s policies: “Liberals use every tool they’ve got to tear down what President Trump built.” Harshbarger emphasized the importance of codifying Trump’s executive orders as a strategy to counteract opposition efforts.
At 18:07 UTC on the same day, Rep. Harshbarger declared support for immigration policies associated with Trump: “This is a huge win.” She criticized the current administration’s handling of immigration by stating it allowed “hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens in without a second thought or proper vetting.” Harshbarger endorsed Trump’s promises to address these concerns by sending undocumented immigrants back home.
Diana Harshbarger was born in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1960 and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a BS degree.
