Rep. Diana Harshbarger, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 1st district, has shared a series of tweets reflecting both personal and professional interests. Harshbarger, who succeeded Phil Roe in 2021, uses her platform to engage with her constituents and colleagues.
On June 6, 2025, Harshbarger extended birthday wishes to her colleague Marsha Blackburn through a tweet: “Please join me in wishing @MarshaBlackburn a very happy birthday!!”
Three days later, on June 9, she promoted an initiative aimed at encouraging literacy among children. In her tweet, she announced: “The @SecondLady’s Summer Reading Challenge is LIVE! Kids K–8: Read 12 books by Sept 5 → Win a prize + enter to visit D.C. Parents/teachers: encourage your readers! Info & reading log https://t.co/ZLc4H1zOq8”
Later that day, Harshbarger expressed agreement with fellow congressman Rep. Pfluger by tweeting: “My friend @RepPfluger is right!” This reflects her engagement and support for her colleagues’ viewpoints.
Diana Harshbarger was born in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1960 and still resides there. She graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
