Rep. Diana Harshbarger, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 1st district since 2021, recently shared her perspectives on several issues through social media posts.
On May 7, 2025, Harshbarger praised the leadership of Rep. Pfluger and the Republican Study Committee in their efforts to “codify President Trump’s executive orders” and promote the America First agenda. She emphasized that under Pfluger’s guidance, the committee has achieved significant progress. The full statement can be found here.
In another post on the same day, Harshbarger addressed Medicaid reform by stating that rethinking its approach is not about reducing care but rather about addressing “waste and fraud” that deplete resources meant for those truly in need. Her complete thoughts are available here.
Later that day, Harshbarger announced she led a letter to Medicare Payment Advisory Commission with colleagues Rep. Jen Kiggans and Rep. Sheri Biggs. They urged for a study on Medicare payment policies concerning advanced practice registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. More details on this initiative can be found here.
Diana Harshbarger was born in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1960 and continues to reside there today at age 63. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from East Tennessee State University.
