Director of Wrestling Andy Bricker and the Lincoln Memorial men's and women's wrestling teams have released their regular season schedules for the 2022-23 school year.
Both teams were scheduled to begin competition as new sports for the university last season but were limited due to roster sizes. They will compete as members of the South Atlantic Conferences Carolinas, a collaboration between the South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas.
Men
The Lincoln Memorial men's wrestling team opens its season with the Pembroke Classic on Sunday, Nov. 6 in Lumberton, N.C. The Railsplitters are then scheduled to host Mount Olive on Nov. 12 at Mary Mars Gym in what will be the first ever home match for the program.
Other tournaments for the men's team include the Midwest Classic on Dec. 17 and 18 in Indianapolis and the Huntingdon College Invite on Jan. 8 in Montgomery, Ala.
In addition to Mount Olive, the Railsplitters will wrestle SACC foes Newberry and Limestone before Christmas Break. Seven duals against conference opponents are lined up consecutively to conclude the regular season.
The Railsplitters host a total of five SACC opponents in Harrogate, including Limestone (Dec. 2), UNC Pembroke (Jan. 19), King (Jan. 19) and Emory & Henry (Jan. 28) in addition to the dual with Mount Olive in November. Patrick Henry Community College will also matchup with Lincoln Memorial on Dec. 2.
Women
The Lincoln Memorial women's wrestling team's schedules mainly consist of meets as opposed to duals as the SACC has fewer teams on the women's side. Women's wrestling is considered an emerging sport by the NCAA.
The Railsplitters begin their season at the Women's Trojan Invite hosted by Mount Olive in North Carolina on Nov. 5. Mount Olive travels to Harrogate for the first ever home match for the program on Nov. 12 at Mary Mars Gym.
Lincoln Memorial also has the Limestone University Duals (Nov. 26), Baron Duals (Dec. 10) and Emory & Henry College Open (Dec. 18) on the slate before Christmas Break. In the new year, the Railsplitter will have a home dual with Emory & Henry (Jan. 28) sandwiched between five meets.
