The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team fell at rival Tusculum 80-78 Wednesday night at Pioneer Arena to snap its 18-game winning streak.
The No. 3 Railsplitters (19-2, 9-1 South Atlantic Conference) trailed for the balance of the second half before Chase Rankin's personal 8-0 run, which included a layup followed by back-to-back 3-pointers, put the visitors up 78-74 with 1:26 to play. However, the host Pioneers (10-7, 6-4 SAC) scored the final six points of the contest for the Top-5 victory.
Tusculum shot a hot 53.1 percent (17-32) from the field in the first half to take a 44-34 lead into the break while leading for over 30 minutes in the game. The Pioneers were led in scoring by Connor Jordan (21 points), Inady Legiste (17) and Makai Olden (15).
