Lincoln Memorial University Powell Player of the Year and Ferguson Freshman of the Year in Conference Carolinas

Haley Powell has been named the Conference Carolinas Women's Bowling Player of the Year, while Madison Ferguson has been named the league's Freshman of the Year to highlight Lincoln Memorial's honors in the conference's postseason awards announced Thursday.
 
Powell, a sophomore from Belvidere, Tenn., averaged 196.7 over 43 games on the season while earning three Conference Carolinas Bowler of the Week recognitions on her way to the accolade, which was voted on by the league's head coaches. She had the top individual scoring average per frame in the conference at 19.78 over 911 frames while placing five times in the Top 25, three times in the Top 10 and once in the Top 5 in eight events on the season.
 
Ferguson, a freshman from Vandalia, Ill., averaged 195.8 over 36 games and was recognized twice with Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month (October and February) and once with the league's Bowler of the Week accolade (Oct. 19). She was fifth in the league in scoring per frame (19.43) and fourth in strike percentage (44.7) while recording five Top 25 individual finishes in seven tournaments.
 
Also landing on the All-Conference First Team for the Lady Railsplitters were Michaela Clardy and Kayleigh McMullen. Clardy, a sophomore from Little River, S.C., averaged 197.1 over 43 games. McMullen, a freshman from Troy, Ohio, averaged 191.2 across 39 games in the regular season.
 
Senior Sofia Colon (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) rounded out Lincoln Memorial's postseason honors, being voted Second Team All-Conference thanks to her 186.9 average in 35 games.
