Lincoln Memorial University Men's Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

Last Thursday, the United Soccer Coaches announced the College Team Academic Award winners, recognized for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year, and for the 15th time in program history the LMU men's soccer team was recognized for their performances off the pitch.

 

For a squad to earn the United States Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award a team must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire 2021-22 academic year.

 

The Railsplitters achieved a team GPA of 3.55, which was the 21st highest team GPA of all the 295 men's teams that were recognized across all divisions in men's college soccer. This is the 15th time LMU has received this award from the United Soccer Coaches, dating back all the way to their first one in 1999. The Railsplitters also got the honor in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

 

LMU will open their 2022 season on Thursday, August 25th at home against the Charleston Golden Eagles. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
