On March 17th, 2023 the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrested Tyler A. Robinson (30) of Speedwell Tennessee and Whitney L. Day (32) also of Speedwell Tennessee. Detectives with the Narcotics Division attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle that Robinson was operating but Robinson refused to stop. Robinson intentionally struck a sheriff’s office patrol vehicle to elude detectives. During the pursuit detectives witnessed Robinson attempting to destroy evidence by throwing it out of the vehicle during the pursuit. Detectives were able to apprehend both Robinson and Day after their vehicle became stuck on a logging road. Detectives were able to locate a large quantity of methamphetamine and $833.00 in United States Currency. Both Robinson and Day were charged with multiple felony charges.
