Diana Harshbarger, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Tennessee's 1st District, has made several statements through her Twitter account addressing both political and cultural issues. Harshbarger, who took office in 2021, has lived in Kingsport, Tennessee for most of her life after obtaining her degree from East Tennessee State University.

In a March 31, 2025 post, Harshbarger highlighted concerns over "Leftist violence is erupting across the country", mentioning Justin Pearson and Jasmine Crockett for their alleged actions in Tennessee. She also criticized figures within the Democratic leadership, including Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.

By April 1, 2025, Harshbarger shifted focus to local culture, stating "In Tennessee, we're known for our music. Whether it's Dolly Parton or Morgan Wallen, we're home to some of the greats". She criticized the ongoing issue of ticket scalping and expressed support for an executive order by President Trump intended to address this matter.

On the same day, she posted a more cryptic message stating "Y’all aren’t going to want to miss this one ", suggesting an upcoming engagement or announcement of interest.
