Bradley County Sheriff's Office First Bradley County Jail Inmates to Receive an HVAC Certification

077e

Jordan Brown, Brandon Revelle, and Terry Holmes are three of the first Bradley County Jail inmates to receive an HVAC certification through a partnership with Cleveland State Community College and our Adult Education Program by completing an 80-hour HVAC course at Cleveland State Community College, and earning the EPA 608 HVAC Universal Certification.

Alan Ledford, formerly with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, was responsible for the initial concept of facilitating an education program for inmates to allow for a career path once released. The goal of the program is to reduce the amount of recidivism we often see within our jail.

Since then, Deputy Jean Casseus of BCSO has taken the responsibility of Adult Education Coordinator and worked with many partners to ensure the program success.

Those collectively responsible for the program success include: Angela Cooper with Tennessee Department of Labor, Southeast Tennessee Adult Education; Jason Taylor, the course instructor and Assistant Professor of Advanced Technologies; Beth Withrow of American Job Center out of Athens, TN; Heather Brown of Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development; Brian Stewart with City Fields; Bradley County Sheriff, Steve Lawson; Sr. Lt. Jeremy Kanipes with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; Superintendent James Gregory with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; Christi Walls, Jail Administrator with Bradley County Sheriff’s Office; and of course, Jean Casseus, their daily driver and coordinator of the Adult Education Program of Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

Congratulations Jordan, Brandon and Terry on your accomplishment of HVAC certification.  Job well done. We hope to continue this success with other skilled trade opportunities for inmates in the future.
