Rep. Diana Harshbarger, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee's 1st district since 2021, recently shared her views on several issues via social media. Born in Kingsport, Tennessee, Harshbarger graduated from East Tennessee State University and has a background that resonates with her constituents in East Tennessee.
On February 18, 2025, Rep. Harshbarger expressed concerns over federal government spending by stating "$4.7 trillion was sent from the federal government and is untraceable. DOGE discovered this." She further commented on accountability by adding, "If you have a problem with that, you are the problem."
Later that day, she addressed efforts to curb financial practices she perceives as detrimental to taxpayers. In her words "Try as they may, they won’t stop @DOGE from drying up the honey pot Democrats have been licking clean at the cost of American taxpayers for years."
In another post dated February 19, 2025, Harshbarger voiced opposition to foreign influence within her constituency by declaring "I represent an extremely rural district. It’s safe to say the folks of East Tennessee don’t want the CCP in our backyard." She concluded with a call for action: "Full speed ahead."
